
Scott Lisman graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and History and then proceeded to graduate from the University of Virginia School in Law in 2004. He has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas since 2004, the same year he moved from Virginia to Houston.
Mr. Lisman is a Partner at Ryan and Dawson. He has appeared in courts throughout the State of Texas and is a licensed member of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the U.S. District Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Tax Court. He has handled a substantial number of commercial litigation cases, civil matters, construction cases probate cases, family law cases, property tax lawsuits, arbitration, and other litigation matters. He also has experience in real estate law, business law, contract review, and tenant-landlord law. Familiar with litigation from the beginning to the end of the process, he has been involved and handled every step of the litigation process.
During his career, Mr. Lisman has also gained experience in transactional law, including real estate transactions, sale of businesses, employment agreements, non-compete and trade secret agreements, wills and trusts, and commercial contracts.
The primary focus of Mr. Lisman’s practice is civil litigation in different areas of law, including commercial litigation, construction, civil, family and probate law. Other areas of focus of his law practice include appellate work, arbitration, and mediation. He has obtained positive outcomes for clients in litigation, appeals, arbitration, mediation and in his transactional work.
